2017 is swiftly becoming the year of the fashion crisis.
First, we saw plastic trousers – perfect for anyone who wants to show off their butt while heading to the supermarket.
Then, came detachable jeans, to save you having to buy both shorts and trousers. Though, considering they cost a whopping £320, you may as well just buy a pair of each.
And now, destroying what little hope we had left for summer clothing, comes the jean dress.
Now, when you read the words ‘jean dress’ you’re probably thinking, ‘what’s so bad about that?’. But we’re not talking about denim dresses or pinafores here. We’re talking an actual dress, made out of a pair of jeans.
Launched by ShopBop, the 2 Jeans Dress is made up of two pairs of denim jeans. The front and back of the dress is made from a medium wash denim, and the middle and sides a dark wash.
The dress has denim straps, and from the top, doesn’t look so bad. But then you work your way to the bottom.
At the bottom of the dress sit the upside-down jean pockets. Which not only looks odd but also makes no sense at all, because how on earth do you expect to carry your lipstick in them?
The flies sit between the pockets along an uneven hem.
Oh, and it gets better: This dress will set you back a shocking £348. No joke. £348 to walk around in an upside-down pair of jeans.
